WHAT IF

From the estate of Frieda Hull, a close friend of Marilyn Monroe's, lots of Monroe memorabilia is up for auction come this fall.  "The items range from $3,000 to $600,000."   You may be into the two locks of hair, but if money grew on trees I'd pony up for the Some Like it Hot black beaded dress.    news

Principle in the type:  "Sometimes we let our thoughts of tomorrow take up too much of today. Daydreaming of the past and longing for the future may provide comfort but will not take the place of living in the present. This is the day of our opportunity, and we must grasp it.”    Thomas S. Monson

RINGO UNLOADS

Ringo Starr sold a lot of cool stuff, many of the proceeds going to his and his wife Barbara Bach's Lotus Foundation, "which funds and promotes charitable projects."  Charity never fails!   The Ludwig Oyster Black Pearl three-piece drum kit used in the beginning peak of the Beatles fame, sold "for a record $2.2 million at Julien's Auctions" during the three-day sale December 3rd through the 5th.  (I think this is the drum kit seen in this post.)

Principle in the type:  "... find ways to lead people to a faith that they can replace their natural self-interest with deep and lasting feelings of charity and benevolence.      Henry B. Erying
