FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY, STING LIKE A BEE

There is such a thing as Major League Eating - and I mean beyond the hot dog affairs.  Professional competitive food eaters exist.  For instance, days ago Gideon 'The Truth' Oji kicked major kale butt.  He's champion of the World's First Kale Eating Contest.   (Should you feel like preparing for next year - work yourself up to over twenty-five and a half bowls.)   " 'I'm a health and fitness professional, and I've been on the road eating chicken, hot dogs, and all-American foods,' Oji said after hoisting the trophy."    Healthy.  Riiigghtnews

Looks like I picked the wrong day to go on a diet.    #nationaldoughnutday     Wish I had this donut hoarder kid here to talk me out of having one:

OPRAH WEIGHS IN

Oprah Winfrey has joined Weight Watchers in word and deed, both investing in the company and participating in the program.  "Following the announcement, the [Weight Watcher's] stock soared. . . . "  A new "program the company is" developing for members plans to focus on more than "just weight loss, according to the website."   news             We are oh so much more than the number on a scale.

THE APPLE REPORT

This recent study seemed to suggest the daily apple does not equal less doctor visits.  (Remember, 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away?')  However, once you read the study results more thoroughly it doesn't really confirm a thing!  Obviously health, and doctor visits are a more complex subject than whether we eat an apple each day.  For starters, "the study lacks information on other foods people ate and it isn't rigorous enough to determine whether people who choose to eat apples are healthier or unhealthier than those who don't.  The reason for the doctor visits also isn't included in the study."  news link

Of course I really read the article in the hopes of a 'chocolate is good for you,' revelation.  Void of that exact statement, it clearly wasn't ruled out either.  Hence making the daily candy apple a possibility until further notified, correct?

Principle in the type:  "The battle for self-discipline may leave you a bit bruised and battered but always a better person.  Self-discipline is a rigorous process at best, too many of us want it to be effortless and painless.  Should temporary setbacks afflict us, a very significant part of our struggle for self-discipline is the determination and the courage to try again."  Thomas S. Monson
