A HAND UP

Remember when Blake Shelton saved some good ol' country teen boys from the muddy pickle they and their truck were stuck in?   Sir, out neighborly-like "rescuing strangers from dangerous" situations when you come across 'em, is what we call being a good cowpoke.      news

CHRISTMASTIME CHEER

Late on their payments and generally in debt, an elderly couple in Illinois had their car repossessed.  But parked around the corner with the car, repo man Jim Ford called the bank and paid them up to current.  The gesture made him think of his own grandparents.  Ultimately donations paid off the car in full.  "We raised most of it in the first eight hours," said Ford.   Just a good ol'fashioned feel good story.  Thank you, Illinois.       story

BELL OF THE BALL

Kristen Bell told People magazine her new show The Good Place with Ted Danson, fuses her two favorite things, "laughter and discovering what it means to be a good person."   Girl crush!  Two of my favorite things too!

PENALTY

Yeah, so, that didn't take long, did it?  "The Los Angeles Rams preseason opener got off to a rousing start."  And I'm talking about the fan fights, arrests, and hospitalizations.  I mean, really?  The first game back in Los Angeles?   All you folk have to do is sit there and enjoy yourself.  Los Angeles I continue to be worried about you.  You got it all going on, but you still can't make it happen.   news

You say potato, and I say potahto. Politically.  And in some ways--and only sometimes--that makes for some humor.

BEACH BOYS

Life is a beach.  For real.  Waves at Lunada Bay in Palos Verdes, California, have called to surfers and the likes for decades.  Allegations exist that a gang of middle-age locals consider the hot spot their territory and harass any who infringe.  "For years, beachgoers and witnesses have accused the Bay Boys . . . of . . . bombarding outsiders," with a string of physical and verbal attacks.     story
