PICK A NUMBER, ANY NUMBER

In the spring, "Doris Day was all set to celebrate her 93rd birthday," until a dug up birth certificate proofed her to be 2 years older than believed.  Some speculation was her age got bumped around as a young starlet.  Nonetheless, 95 it is.  And she's stickin to it.     story

Principle in the type:  "The limitations that are the natural consequence of advancing age can in fact become remarkable sources of spiritual learning and insight. . . . Physical restrictions can expand vision.  Limited stamina can clarify priorities.  Inability to do many things can direct focus to a few things of greatest importance."    David A. FEELING LOVE'LY

photo by Benurs - Learning and learning ...

Stumbled upon this oldie but goodie.  Were The Beetles any more adorable than in this video?  (Ladies?  Guys?)   I think I'm mostly feelin' Ringo here, even though Sir Paul is da'bomb, John's dashing, and George is every girl's sweet dream.    Ahhhhh.   I digress.
And what a song.  Love.  Love is the thing.

Principle in the type:  "We can begin to become more diligent and concerned at home by telling the people we love that we love them.  Such expressions do not need to be flowery or lengthy.  We simply should sincerely and frequently express love."            David A. Bednar

ROOTING FOR YOU

"Weak roots, years of drought and a battery of rain caused a pine tree to collapse onto a group of day campers near the Rose Bowl . . . " in Pasadena, California.   "The roots left in the ground after the tree fell were girdled and relatively small . . . " reported a specialist.   No one was killed, thankfully.   news               Roots go deep with hard work, growth, and conviction.

Principle in the type:  "Sometimes we may ask God for success, and He gives us physical and mental stamina. We might plead for prosperity, and we receive enlarged perspective and increased patience, or we petition for growth and are blessed with the gift of grace. He may bestow upon us conviction and confidence as we strive to achieve worthy goals. And when we plead for relief from physical, mental, and spiritual difficulties, He may increase our resolve and resilience. "        David A. Bednar

SHINE SOME LIGHT ON IT

After seven long months of silence, "the Philae spacecraft that landed on a comet last fall has woken up and communicated with Earth." (news link)     Scientist believe this hibernation may have ended because the craft's solar panels were finally able to soak up some sunlight as the comet approached the sun.

Principle in the type:  "Change our own circumstances rather than expecting our circumstances to be changed by someone or something else."    David A Bednar

MCDREAMY MOVES OUT

Out of Grey's Anatomy, and his marriage.  The surprise twist of Patrick Dempsey's character dying in the hit television series, follows the far sadder story of the end of his 15 year marriage with Jillian Fink.  In a press statement they relayed, "It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage . . . Our primary concern remains the well being of our children . . . "   news link

Principle in the type:  "May every spouse, every child, and every parent be blessed to communicated and receive love . . . and to become more consistent in the seemingly small things that matter so much.    David A. Bednar
