THANKS

It's that time of the year again!  Thanksgiving.  Enjoy the foodie video.  Kiddos are tasting Thanksgiving side dishes, mostly of years gone by.  Happy about marshmallow covered sweet potatoes arriving on the Thanksgiving scene!  I can't quit you, marshmallow covered sweet potatoes.  (Nowhere but America, am I right or am I right?)

I'm enjoying the girl who proclaims, "it's bad and good at the same time."  Me thinks she spurts out guru-like life wisdom.

Principle in the type:  "Regardless of our circumstances, each of us has much for which to be grateful if we will but pause and contemplate our blessings.  This is a wonderful time to be on earth. While there is much that is wrong in the world today, there are many things that are right and good. There are marriages that make it, parents who love their children and sacrifice for them, friends who care about us and help us, teachers who teach. Our lives are blessed in countless ways."    Thomas S. Monson

KIDDOS

In a revolutionary surgery, a woman born without a uterus, received her mother's womb and bore a son.  Emelie Ericksson "was told she would never be able to have children."  But amazingly did, and from the same womb that gave her life!   "It's like science fiction. . . . in the future," but "it's about me," says Eriksson.      story

SUSTAIN YOURSELF

Look, I'm really sad about the Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber break-up.  They never married (and I'm a sucker for marriage).  Still it was 11 years and 2 kiddos.  "It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship."    news

OLD FARM, NEW DAY

It's tough out there.   Be the good you want to see in the world.   Here's something to smile about:

MOTHER'S DAY GIFT, NOT

Remember this post?    Well, leaving your little one with a car as the babysitter, lives on.   This time Poppa, a personal trainer, needed to "met with a client" at 24-hour Fitness.   His crying 8-month-old remained in an unlocked, engine running, parked car for about an hour before the police came.   Nice one, Poppa.   Not.    news

MIRROR IMAGE

On fatherhood, actor John Krasinski says it has changed him. "There is a mirror that is held up to me now.  You have someone watching you.  You have to lead by example.  I'm focused on becoming a better person . . . "  story

Principle in the type:  "The things you say, the tone of your voice, the anger or calm of your words—these things are noticed by your children and by others. They see and learn both the kind and the unkind things we say or do.  Nothing exposes our true selves more than how we treat one another in the home."         Joseph B. Wirthlin.

RULES FOR KIDS

Did school start this week for your babies?  It did in my town.  Do me a favor, try not to make these cuties cry on their first day!

MAKING LEMONADE

photo by  Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism

Refreshing story time.

You know the kids and their lemonade stands that pop up every summer?  After asking "riders if they would mind," Boston city bus driver, John Lohan treated his passengers to a lemonade from a child's stand on his route, during a sweltering day.    news
