president's day

Poor babies in Los Angeles.  We still don't have Hamilton playing in our theaters!  Onward and upward.  Let's celebrate Presidents' Day nonetheless!   Really, officially George Washington's birthday.  Thank you, General Washington.  You'da man!    link

Principle in the type:  "Even today we really do follow the model of the executive, from what Washington established so many years ago. . . . Allowing everyone to have their own influence in policy is, uh, is pretty significant."        Christopher Jackson    (Hamilton's original cast George Washington)

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Two birds with one stone?  That cliche was invented for this post.  (Bet you didn't know?)   Miss. Lady did a beautiful job singing our national anthem last week!  (Happy President's Day!)  (Don't Miss Video Here)  ~ And whoa what a pretty red suit she's wearing!  (Happy Valentine's Day!)  .... See?  A total two-fer!   To the all the lovebirds.  Enjoy!

Principle in the type:  "Only you, you're the only thing I'll see/Forever/In my eyes in my words/And in everything I do/Nothing else but you/Ever  ....   Today, the world was just an address/A place for me to live in/No better than all right/But here you are/And what was just a world is a star/Tonight                           Tonight     (from Westside Story)

WHY MEMORIAL DAY

To Melanie House, "every day is Memorial Day and we don't need a special day to remember [John], because he's part of our lives every day." (news story)     House's husband John, who is also son James' father, was killed in action in Iraq over 10 years ago.   This Memorial Day we the public honor John House's sacrifice and so many like him and his family.

Principle in the type:  "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid.  They have earned our undying gratitude.  America will never forget their sacrifices.    Harry S. Truman
