OZZ'RON

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have separated.  Ozzy has moved out of the house he shared "with his wife of more than 30 years."    The public can speculate (sex, drugs, and rock n' roll?) but who knows ...        news

Principle in the type:  "The real essence of happiness in marriage lies not so much in romance as in an anxious concern for the comfort and well-being of one's companion.  Thinking of self alone and of the gratification of personal desires will build neither trust, love, nor happiness.  Only when there is unselfishness will love, with its concomitant qualities, flourish and blossom."       Gordon B. Hinckley

Toni Tennille has written a new memoir.  Everything you ever wanted to know about Captain & Tennille included, ---if you even know what the words "Captain & Tennille" mean, you wee babies!!  (Oh my gosh, I'm getting old.)    "In my prime I was a damn good singer," remembers Tennille.   Yup, she did her part for sure.   Enjoy classic Seventies'ness below.

THE KISS HEARD AROUND THE WORLD

You know the kiss.  It was the day the U.S declared victory over Japan, and a sailor in New York City exuberantly laid one on the closest nurse.  What a glimpse of excitement, joy, surrender, and romance it was captured by photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt.  Check out the link if you need a refresher.  (story link)     Edith Shain, said nurse, passed away a few years ago, but her moment lives on.  She admitted once, that maybe she should have gotten the unknown fella's name and number!

Principle in the type:  "Lust is temporary, romance can be nice, but love is the most important thing of all.  Because without love, lust and romance will always be short-lived.  Danielle Steel
