A BETTER PLACE

In honor of life's comings and goings.

Principle in the type:  "If we looked at mortality as the whole of existence, then pain, sorrow, failure, and short life would be calamity. But if we look upon life as an eternal thing stretching far into the premortal past and on into the eternal post-death future, then all happenings may be put in proper perspective."    Spencer W. Kimball

WHEN ONE CURTAIN CLOSES

They say it comes in 3s.  Maybe you have personal experience with that?  In celebrity news, we sadly lost George Michael, Carrie Fisher, and Debbie Reynolds this week.   Talented singer, good writer (and Princess), and an icon starlet.   I thought of Debbie Reynolds just the other day.  Watching a number in La La Land, reminded me of her and her fellas in Singin' in the Rain.  Enjoy the link!  They are in a better place.  Rest in peace.

Principle in the type:  "Before embarking on any journey we like to have some assurance of a round-trip ticket.  Returning from earth to life in our heavenly home requires passage through--and not around--the doors of death.  We were born to die, and we die to live (Corinthians).  As seedlings of God, we barely blossom on earth, we fully flower in heaven."     Russell M. Nelson

IMPORTANT TALKS

Tracy Morgan told Complex magazine he talked to God, and God talked to him, after his 2014 accident, where he nearly lost his life.  "You're never going to be normal after you go through something like that," said Morgan.  He is back to work now, healthy, up and at it.  And talking to God?  Never a bad idea.    story

THE ARTIST FORMERLY AND STILL KNOWN AS PRINCE

The talented Prince.  (His best song per me was Cream.)   57 is too young.

Besides his own music, "Prince was famous for having writing, instrumental, or production credits on other artists' albums."  Looking at deep cuts, BuzzFeed found a winner.   Maybe this will be in the news everywhere by tomorrow, but Prince wrote Donald Trump (Black Version) performed on a 1990 album by R&B/funk group, The Time.   (Called Morris Day and The Time by the time they were in the Prince film, Purple Rain.)    I mean, good stuff, right?

R.I.P. Prince Nelson.  Thanks for sharing your talent.

Principle in the type:  "Creative work is not a selfish act on the part of the actor.  It's a gift to the world and every being in it.  Don't cheat us out of your contribution.  Give us what you've got."         Steven Pressfield
