PUSH BUTTON

Butt dials never get old.   But never never butt dial the police, whilst preparing to commit a crime!   Or better yet do, as "a Bremerton, Washington woman did."   Gives the police a leg up.       story

SPECIAL DELIVERY

I'm not sure how they thought this was going to work out, but "a mother who mailed drugs to her incarcerated daughter is now an inmate in the same Florida jail."  I don't know, is it at the least a 'two-wrongs-don't-make-a-right," sorta story?   news

MORE COW BELL

Ya'know how them preggers lady cows get to waggin their tails harder as labor contractions kick up?  (I'm listening to George Strait right now.  Don't mind the accent.)   ---Well the University of New Hampshire folk attached a sensor (the "Moocall") to them fine tails, and now the boss can receive a text about an hour before Junior comes.  So far so good.   (You human Dads-to-Be don't get any bullish ideas.  Just stay with your honey like big boys.)    story

'ELLA NEWS

Biggest Coachella news I think so far: Guns N' Roses.   "The band played a 2 1/2-hour set of its biggest hits and deep cuts . . ."    Critics say they came, they played, they kicked butt'ola.   I vote GNR relevant in rock history.  They have their sound, made their mark, and all that.   Side note:  I read a while back some of guitarist Duff McKagan's book 'How to Be a Man: (and other illusions).'   I'm a sucker for a good "I'm clean now, love my family, and life is a beautiful thing" story.     news

LET GO OF MY LEGO

What hurt's more?   Stepping barefoot on your Legos, or having them stolen??  Police in Portland arrested a man "who agreed to sell stolen Legos to undercover investigators."  Hey, it starts with Legos - who knows where it will end!    news

COMING TO A FORK IN THE FAIRWAY

When the Ann Landers advice column suggested not washing one's golf balls in one's kitchen sink, hoopla erupted.  "We routinely wash fruits and vegetables in the kitchen sink, and they have dirt and chemicals on them. . . . Get over it!" said one reader.  Another, "everyone uses the ball washers at each tee or wets a towel and wipes them," not a big deal.  It went on and on from there.  The point is I think - make your reasoned decision, and do it!        story

DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT

Note to self:  Remind my kids not to light each other on fire to make a cool YouTube video.  Luckily avoiding injury, in Pennsylvania two 13-year-old boys decided to do just that.  "One agreed to be set on fire so the other could film it and post it online."  A blowtorch was involved, the fire proved tricky to put out, and they didn't even get to download a boss clip.   news

SMART DOESN'T GROW ON TREES

"Police say a suspect had his first name stenciled on a sweatshirt he wore while breaking into a western Pennsylvania taxi company where he used to work. . . . State Police security video showed the suspect wearing a shirt with the name 'Josh' on it," hence 26-year-old Joshua Jording finds himself now facing a preliminary hearing on burglary, theft and other charges.       news
