GIVE ME A 'Y' GIVE ME AN 'O'

Where there are football players, there are cheerleaders!  These ladies (see link) worked hard, to make the Los Angeles Chargers squad.  In other news, you may not have to do the splits to make your own dreams come true.   (Sigh of relief emoji...)     news

TALENT'Y

Ah, you know, these guys are just cute.  If it's a set-up or not, I don't know.  But I'm a sucker for some of these Got Talent, clips.  I still cry at  Susan Boyle, I Dreamed A Dream.    What?  You thought I had a heart of stone?  I don't!

THIS MOMENT

I'm happy at the moment!  Yippee!  Hey the lead in this video reminds me of myself the occasional morning.  Can ya feel me?  Good stuff.  Thanks, Georgie-boy.

Happiness doesn't come as a result of luck or accident.  It most certainly doesn't come from having all our our wishes come true.  Happiness doesn't come from external circumstances.  It comes from the inside---regardless of what is happening around us. LET'S GO!

It's Fall!  This first weekend of October is one of my absolute favorites.  Makes me want to happy dance, like this (what, you think I can't??):

FOOT LOOSE FANCY FREE?

Sorry if you missed the 80's.  We couldn't all be there!  Don't be jelly.  (Side note:  Have you ever played Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon?)

OLDish

Essay writing at it's finest:

It is my birthday today, so I get to write whatever I want AND pick a favorite random quote (or two).  (Then again, I do make the rules here.  So this isn't so extraordinary.)

I was on a plane ride home yesterday.  I'm not a great flyer.  I don't enjoy it.  I'm a little bit nervous.  I like people, I don't like people.  I like to use a normal sized restroom.  I feel like I can't relax.  I believe in seat belts, but don't always want to wear them.

Life is like---yes, a box of chocolates, #1 you never know what you're going to get, and, #2 always spit out the bad stuff---but it is also like a plane ride.  Right down to the 'put your own oxygen mask on before helping someone else' bit.  Case in point:  Pay your own way, watch for warning lights, bring something to read (ever learning), enjoy the view(!),  it's not all about the destination but the journey too, and if you're tired, sleep.  There are highs, and there are lows.  You can fly, and you can land.

It's this simple.  When you're young you think about presents on your birthday, when you're middle ground you think 'Queen for the Day,' when old(ish), you pontificate about life.

EASY FEELING

Glenn Frey passed away Monday, at 67 years of age.  R.I.P.

Personally it shakes me a little, like this article says, because frankly the Eagles were literally "the anthem" of the kids just ahead of me in school.  "One of the best selling bands of all time," (link) --by the way.    It's a longer post today because I walked a bit down memory lane.  Thank you, Glenn Frey for that.

When I went to an Eagles' concert a few years back, I remember Frey saying he always saw their music, being all about the harmony.  The band's signature even.  He also cracked, "For the record, we never broke up ... we just took a 14 year vacation."  Ha!   They played this song (video below).  It's newer.  I thought it was very Eagle'y, and lovely.  The video's slide show rounds today's thoughts out.

((And click here if you need Hotel California in all it's glory.  This one, it's real good.   Freakin love this song.  The Hub's fav ... and he's right, it's gold.))

Always important to me in my old-days-music:  Who I thought was cutest in a band.  In the Eagles? --Joe Walsh.                       But for now, Glenn has all our hearts.
