ELECTRICITY, LIGHTS, ORCHESTRA!

Today's post is in honor of my hot date last night with ELO at the Hollywood Bowl.   It was soooo good.   (Sweet Talkin' Woman, Telephone Line, Mr. Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Western Hero, Turn to Stone, Livin' Thing, When I Was a Boy, --and on and on gold.)   Great night under the Hollywood stars.   Below, the less known but or so worthy Need Her Love.

ANGELS AMONG US

Is Los Angeles 234 years old or not?   That has become the quibble historians find themselves in.  And not all historians agree on its said original name either; El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles (which means, for you gringos like me, 'the Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels').   No matter.  Angels at any year are a good thing.    story

FAST BALL

Scary.  Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker took a line drive to the head, Sunday.  105 mph off the bat, it struck him nearly square on the skull.  He walked off the field, and is being closely monitored.  Possibly having escaped serious injury.  "It just gives you that feeling where you have a pit in your stomach," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.    news

RESTING AND LABORS

I listened to this Ray Charles version during our fireworks display last July 4th.  It hit my sweet spot.  Enjoy.  And Happy Labor Day Weekend, you Americans you!!

DIRECTION

I gotta tell you.  I'm okay with humans still driving their vehicles.  Ohio's toll road may see self-driving cars next year.  "Not necessarily driverless...but with someone in the driver's seat whose role is to primarily make sure the vehicle's guidance system" is on task.  Testing begins in months.  I'm reading about a thousand details that need yet perfecting.  (If there is such a thing as perfecting those thousand details.)   Call me, Not On Board.     news
