WHAT DIDDY DID

All the weekend news (confederate flag, gay marriage, convicted murderer manhunt, and more) demands attention.  (link)        But the big story?  Diddy dropped it like it's hot, at the Sunday night BET Awards.  He was just trying to rap it out and oops!   . . slipped and fell on stage.  Luckily he bounced back fine.   However, last weeks hurling of a "kettle ball at a UCLA assistant who was giving his football player son a hard time."   ---that trip up wasn't as slick.   (story link)

Over the last school year, kids at East Valley High School, in Spokane Washington received daily compliments courtesy of an anonymous Instagram account.  It's a heartwarming story.  "The account began reposting students’ selfies with incredibly thoughtful captions, and eventually made its way through the yearbook, sending individual shoutouts to" almost 700 students.    news story
Anybody want to be this Instagram account owner, when you grow up?

CHARITY NEVER FAILETH

photo by Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Actress Kristin Davis brings a spotlight to the needs of the world's refugee population through her relationship with the UN Refugee Agency.  This month she visited with Sudanese refugees in Uganda.  "It is the most beautiful and basic human exchange to be able to provide food and shelter for people who have been trapped in horrible circumstances through no fault of their own," remarked Davis.   news link

Principle in the type:  "There is a serious need for the charity that gives attention to those who are unnoticed, hope to those who are discouraged, aid to those who are afflicted.  True charity is love in action.  The need for charity is everywhere.   Thomas S. Monson

LOVE REIGNS

"Although my grandfather and the other victims died at the hands of hate, this is proof --- everyone's plea for your soul is proof they lived in love and their legacies will live in love, so hate won't win," said Alana Simmons, who lost her grandfather, the Rev. Daniel Simmons in the Charleston, S.C. shooting.   ". . . hate doesn't win."   news link

Principle in the type:  "The strongest impression I have of my relationship with my father I cannot document with any event or any words I can recall. It is a feeling. That is the kind of memory a boy can treasure, and also a man”   Dallin H. Oaks

SHINE SOME LIGHT ON IT

After seven long months of silence, "the Philae spacecraft that landed on a comet last fall has woken up and communicated with Earth." (news link)     Scientist believe this hibernation may have ended because the craft's solar panels were finally able to soak up some sunlight as the comet approached the sun.

WILD BEFORE THE CALM

For a wild boar in a China shop?  ---wandering into a children's clothing store in Hong Kong isn't a dream afternoon.  The knocking stuff over and broken display cases made it less than a dream afternoon for the shop owners as well.  Until the tranquilizer gun arrives, it's all rather a big deal.   news story

PRESENTATION IS EVERYTHING

What if you were told you were drinking a healthy juice, but really it was strained Skittles water?  Haha, lol lol lol.
Are we all suckers?  Do we believe anything?  Is it human nature to dabble in these areas?  And most importantly, has this girl ever been in a kitchen before -- because she's spilling everywhere?!!
Enjoy a funny gag, that leaves you with something to think about:

BUSY BEE

There are agencies that help special needs adults train and find solutions for independent living, travel, and work.   Destry Walker is one of those success stories.  He has worked at the same place for 20 years, and that means everything to him.  "I love my job," the 50-year old man said . . . "It's like a second home." (news story)         Good work is empowering and will always add to a person's sense of security and self-worth.

Principle in the type:  "Work is honorable.  It is good therapy for most problems.  It is the antidote for worry.  It is the equalizer for deficiency of native endowment.  Work makes it possible for the average to approach genius.  What we may lack in aptitude, we can make up for in performance."     J. A CHANGE-UP

Vanessa Hudgens told People magazine regarding her style and taste, "I'm growing up, evolving."
