PUTTING YOUR BEST FOOD FORWARD

What can I say?  I freaking love the Met Gala!   If you have an ounce of creativity or curiosity, scroll through at the link, and tell me your favorite dress 'art!'   This is breaking news.   (Bonus:  Enjoyed that Courtney Love and Francis Bean went together.  A sign their constant fighting may be fake news.)      news

GOT WHAT IT TAKES

I have kind of an Anna Wintour girl crush.  Can't explain it quite.  (Did you see the The First Monday in May?)   Anyway, a little fun and games for you below.  (And can you tell the sweaters apart? ... Oh, you'll see what I mean.)

Principle in the type:  "You may think you don't have talents, but that is a false assumption, for we all have talents and gifts, every one of us.  The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano.  Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before--colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter."    Dieter F. Uchtdorf

FALL INTO FASHION

Bathing suits are out (after this Monday's Labor Day) and Fall fashion is here.    What better way to dive in than lots of little details in a one-on-one with Vogue's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour?

TAN COCO

Simon Doonan and others who know about such trivia, reminds that in "the 1920's, trendsetter Chanel went on a boat trip and forgot to bring her sunbonnet.  Coco got baked.  She returned to shore looking daringly dusky."  This is not an April Fools' scam.  It's true.  All because of Coco, the tan-look "sparked a trend which has been seen as a status symbol."   (story link)

What if she'd jumped off a bridge?  Would we?

Principles in the type:  "It's tragic how few people ever 'possess their souls' before they die. 'Nothing is more rare in any man,' says Emerson, 'than an act of his own.' It is quite true. Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their life is a mimicry, their passions a quotation.”     Oscar Wilde
