GET THE LED OUT

The face off in court between Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and American band Spirit's "Taurus" (which you can listen to here), continues.  Did the Zepp rip the rift?  Nah, says music expert Lawrence Ferrara.  That same chord progression "musical element was used 300 years ago, as well as in many pop songs since then."    Some melodies make for a Good foundation, obvi.

  1. Having read so much about it, how interesting to actually HEAR the music in question. As tough as it might be to copyright a melody after all the years of melodies, in this case I think they done stole it. Maybe NOT such a good thing...

    And isn't there some statute of limitation on this stuff? It was a LONG time ago!
