Humans Of New York met this man this week, and we are all better for it!  He tells his students at the Excellence Boys Charter School, in Brooklyn, "Every decision you make matters. Because once you’re older, you’re going to revert back to the same behavior you have right now. If you have a foundation of rudeness, dishonesty, and not caring, that’s what you’ll fall back on when you’re faced with a challenge."  There are some pretty amazing folks out there, teaching amazing things.  Thank you Amazing Folks!   story link

KEEP YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME

The Los Angeles Clippers are in the playoffs.  Where I come from that is big news.  Monday in Game One against the Houston Rockets, they won, even with Clippers star Chris Paul sitting ringside with a strained hamstring.  Coach Doc Rivers theorized it was good they'd played a game just two days earlier.  " '. . . that always helps too,' Rivers said. 'I think the rhythm of playing is not a bad thing.  I think it's actually a good thing.' "   Life lesson.  Keep a rhythm, find your pace, and hold on to that desire to win.

Hands off is the best policy, when it comes to another man's (or woman's) potatoes.  Police reported in Petaluma a "would-be burglar got side-tracked by heating up some tater tots and taking a nap on the sofa of the house he broke into."  Smelling trouble the owner called the police, who apprehended the bad guy.     news link

MCDREAMY MOVES OUT

Out of Grey's Anatomy, and his marriage.  The surprise twist of Patrick Dempsey's character dying in the hit television series, follows the far sadder story of the end of his 15 year marriage with Jillian Fink.  In a press statement they relayed, "It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage . . . Our primary concern remains the well being of our children . . . "   news link

WALK TALL

Walter "Chick" McGill has come a long way.  Across the nation, that is.  He is a 69 year old, newly converted pastor, who heard the call three years ago to ". . . do the right thing."  That's what society has to get back, "being good to each other," he believes.  McGill's form of preaching this message was to walk across the nation, and he is almost there -- reaching the pier in Santa Monica, California any day.  Say what you will about his way of proclamation, but 'being good to each other,' sounds pretty nice about now.   news link
